The Nehemiah Mandate
I want to speak to you about a divine urgency—a call that transcends mere construction and enters the realm of destiny. On December 11, 2020, as we stood at the crossroads of a world trying to find its footing, the Spirit of God gave us a clear instruction: Arise and Build.
This is not just a story from the archives of history; this is the Nehemiah Mandate, and it is your blueprint for transformation.
The Burden Before the Build
Before Nehemiah ever picked up a trowel, he picked up a burden. He heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and its gates were burned with fire.
You cannot build what you are not willing to weep over. Resilience begins with a holy dissatisfaction. If you are comfortable with the ruins in your life, your family, or your nation, you will never have the grace to reconstruct them. The Mandate starts when your heart breaks for what breaks God’s heart.
From Lamentation to Legislation
Nehemiah didn’t just stay in his sorrow; he took his sorrow to the King. But first, he took it to the King of Kings.
I am telling you: Arise! Get up from the place of mourning. Your season of weeping has expired; your season of “doing” has arrived. You have stayed at this mountain long enough.
Sword in One Hand, Trowel in the Other
The Nehemiah Mandate is a dual-purpose calling. While we were building, the enemy was plotting. Nehemiah taught us that:
You cannot build your dream without a defense system. As you rebuild your finances, your marriage, or your ministry, stay alert. The “Sanballats” and “Tobiahs” of this world will mock you and say, “Even a fox could knock down that wall.” Let them talk! You don’t come down from the wall to argue with critics; you stay on the wall because you are doing a Great Work.
The Power of “Us”
Nehemiah didn’t build the wall alone; he mobilized the people. The wall was finished in record time—52 days—because everyone built the section in front of their own house.
My Charge to You:
“Stop waiting for a ‘better time’ to start. The ruins are the very material God wants to use for the restoration. The Favor of the King is upon you, the resources of Heaven are behind you, and the Mandate is clear: Arise and Build!“
The gates are being restored, the walls are going up, and the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former.
What “section of the wall” do you feel God is calling you to start building today?
